just got off the phone with my mom.. and boy was it funny.. the conversation went something like this:

me: hello.. mama ah.. where's papa?
mom: papa went out already. why?
me: no lah need to ask him help me shut down my laptop cos i forgot.
mom: orh.. he went out very early lah.
me: (decides to take a chance) okie ma. u go to my room right.. then go shake the mouse.
mom: okie wait wait. let me take my spces.
me: so how? got anything on the screen? is it got one box there?
mom: ah? u mean letter.doc ah?
(box and a word document. how similar is that?)
me: no no! got one box there.. one big box...
mom: oh yah is it the transfer web one?
me: yes. u go see whether the first line of words got put 100%?
mom: where got? oh yah have.. 100%.
me: okie good.. u see the top right hand corner of the box? got one red cross?
mom: yah
me: okie move the mouse to that.
mom: okie. u mean the arrow shoot to the red cross?
me: (bewildered) yes (i suppose u cld say that..)
mom: okie then?
me: then u click the mouse once.
mom: left or right one?
me: left
mom: okie then what?
me: u see the bottom left of the screen got one 'start' word there?
mom: no! there is nothing there?
(and i thot my screen blank out for a while.. as it usually happens)
me: okie nvm. you wait for a while.................. got now?
mom: don't have only got flower.. (my wallpaper) the mouse stuck there.
me: (that was when i realised she didn't move the mouse at all) no ma! move the mouse...
mom: okie move to the start there ah?
me: yah.. then click it once.
mom: use the left one (left mouse button)
me: yes.. then u can see got one red button there?
mom: yes.. shut down right?
me: yupps.. then click that once.
mom: okie... how come got one box come out???
me: okie good.. u see got 3 buttons there? yellow, red and green?
mom: yah...
me: okie click the red button...
mom: okie. like that can already ah?
me: yes. ma... you now officially know how to shut down a computer.
mom: eh! u very naughty ah... stupid girl.
me: HAHAHHHAHAHHAHHAH!!! (i'm really proud of u ma)

do note that when she was handling the lappie her voice was quite panicky lah. ahhaha but very cute. my mom is soooo loveable man. hahahah thank god microsoft decide to colour code their shut down function. if not, i think my mom will kill my lappie. and after this conversation, i can be those troubleshooter person. esp to comp iliterate pple. woohoo!
